Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a leading business lawyer to join our team of motivated, entrepreneurial professionals.

As a skilled business lawyer, you would join a small, capable group, working with clients from startups to multinational corporations.

This critical role in Langford Law’s continued success and growth would be accountable for:

• Contributing to the growth and diversity of a successful business law practice;
• Delivering quality corporate and commercial legal advice, documents and transaction services; and
• Mentoring and receiving support from junior business lawyers.

Candidate Education, Experience and Attributes

The successful candidate will have quality training, diverse experience and exceptional skills for legal advice, documents and transactions, including:

Education

• LL.B. or J.D. degree from a faculty of common law at a Canadian university or equivalent qualification; and
• Active Member of the Law Society of Alberta (or eligibility for membership).

Experience

Minimum of 5 years, but preferably 10+ years of experience as a business lawyer focused on corporate and commercial law. Practice areas could include mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financial services, commercial transactions, commercial real estate, tax or other areas. Expectations include:

• Leading practice in the area of corporate and commercial law;
• Established client base that would transition with you; and
• Ability to provide legal services to existing and new clients of Langford Law.
